The Inland Tournament Of Champions originated when Alpine Sand & Gravel sponsored a tournament in 1963 to determine the Edmonton Men's city curling champion. The Men's champion from each club in the city would meet at the end of the season, in round-robin competition, for the trophy which has become emblematic of city club supremacy. In 1993, the event was further enhanced when the Edmonton Women's city championship was incorporated into the tournament.
Over the years many prominent curlers including Kevin Martin, Pat Ryan, Randy Ferbey and Cathy Borst have participated in and won this tournament.
Through acquisitions, organizational and name changes the event has continued with the sponsorship of:
