Washed and Concrete Rock

5mm (¼ inch) Chips
· 100% fractured rock
· main use is ice control

5 - 14mm (¼ - 9/16  inch) Pea Gravel
· sometimes called “Edmonton brownstone” or “river rock”
· main use is exposed aggregate for ready-mix concrete
· also used for backfill around fiberglass tanks, dog runs and playgrounds

12.5mm (½ inch) Washed Rock
· material is 5 – 12.5mm (¼ - ½ inch)
· used by roofing contractors, pre-casters and landscapers
· main use is as a component of concrete

20mm (¾ inch) Washed Rock
· material is 12.5 – 20mm (½ - ¾ inch) and will contain some chips
· meets city specs for weeping tile rock
· used by underground contractors
· mainly used for trenches or as a component in concrete

5 - 20mm (¼ - ¾ inch) Washed Rock
· combination of 20mm (¾ inch) and 12.5mm (½ inch)
· sometimes called washed blend rock
· used by ready-mix plants that do not have the bin capacity for split aggregates

25mm (1 inch) Washed Rock
· material is 20 – 25mm (¾ - 1 inch), will contain some smaller pieces
· 90% natural round rock
· used by underground contractors
· mainly used as drainage rock, around fire hydrants, landscaping rock
